I had a friend back in high school who decided she wanted to lose weight. She signed up for a gym and worked out everyday, but still ate tons of fast food and sweets. Although she lost a couple of pounds in the beginning, in the long run she ended up gaining even more weight because she thought working out gave her the privilege of eating anything she wanted. 
You can work out all you want, but if you’re not eating healthily, your results won’t be as effective. Simple as that.
